Lisa provides nursing leadership and support to the nursing team leaders in the NIHR Southampton Clinical Research Facility (NIHR CRF) and the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR BRC), working with the senior nurse managers to enhance nursing practice and strategy.
Lisa is the Clinical Nursing Lead for Phase 1 studies, Vaccines and ATIMP research and provides oversight and strategic leadership to nursing teams working in these key research areas. Lisa advises and supports researchers, as required, on the design and logistics of running a research study, ensuring that these complex studies are delivered to an excellent standard and comply with required research legislation and governance. Lisa has provided advice at a national level to support the logistical planning and delivery of large scale Covid-19 vaccine studies.
She advises researchers, as required, on the logistics of running a research study, and actively seeks the opinions and experiences of the public, patients, carers and research participants to inform practice within the facility.
Lisa is a member of the NIHR UK Clinical Research Facility Network (UKCRFN) and is Chair of the UKCRFN Intensity Theme Group – leading on the training and implementation of the UKCRFN ’Study Intensity Tool’. Lisa is a Nursing Times Award finalist and a double PharmaTimes Award winner.
